The Care Connection offers a one-time, full-day, comprehensive childbirth education class. This class will include:
- Understanding Pregnancy – third trimester overview, changing emotions, anatomy of pregnancy, discomforts, nutrition, body mechanics, strength and stretching exercises, special-attention pregnancies
- Understanding Labor – Birth is natural, the 4 P’s of labor, signs of prelabor, onset of labor, stages of labor, early labor, active labor, transition, pushing, birth, placenta delivery
- Understanding Comfort Techniques – Labor support team, breathing, relaxation, massage, visualization, focal points, back labor, long labor, providing support
- Understanding Medical Procedures – Birth planning and decision making, induction, augmentation, monitoring, pain medication, second stage interventions, cesarean birth
- Understanding Newborns – Newborn procedures, choosing your baby’s healthcare provider, newborn appearance, a newborn’s world

Cost: $90 per Couple
This class is currently covered 100% by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Community Blue of Western New York (Alive & Lively). Independent will rebate $30.00 to member upon completion of course.

Class Registration & Cancellation Policy

All classes must be paid in full at the time of registration. Refunds will be given only with 48 hours prior cancellation notification. If less than 48 hours notice is given, we will gladly schedule you into the next available class in lieu of a refund. Second time cancellation will forfeit your fee and attendance in class. Class participant is fully responsible for the accurate and complete submission of all insurance information prior to class date. Class participant will be responsible for class charge should your insurance deny reimbursement. Class charges will be automatically charged to your credit card on record. The Care Connection reserves the right to cancel classes that do not meet minimum attendance requirements or due to instructor unavailability.
